The SCAD sequential art department will host a Mini-Comics Expo Saturday, May 11, 1-4 p.m. at Norris Hall, 548 E. Broughton St., Savannah, Georgia. Nearly 40 vendors - SCAD sequential art students, alumni and professors - will exhibit and sell their self-published mini-comics and magazines.

This event celebrates handmade comic books and do-it-yourself publishing. Other department-related publications and student anthologies will also be available.

There will also be a series of fun demonstrations led by professors and graduate students - from drawing comics to creating and binding comic books - open to children and adults alike.

The expo and all workshops are free and open to the public.

SCAD Sand Arts Festival 2013

News coverage after the Boston bombings: A visual infographic

In the days following the Boston bombings, social media was used heavily by law enforcement agencies, news organizations, and the general public. The following video illustrates how traditional media was used in conjunction with social media during the first five days after the event.

Swing club hosts their 2nd annual swing dance festival that took place the first weekend in May. Many enthusiasts came to the Saturday event held at The Mansion on Drayton Street.
